HADEN FAMILY AND FRIENDS

 131st Edition

From where we've come to where we are going

In the early stages of the website some very interesting family history was included. It took us back to the early 1780's with Charles and Sarah Marshall, the parents of Mathew Marshall Ford a Slave. It went on to tell us how Jane Ford a free woman married a slave and so Mathew took on her Surname. And finally, it explained our Early beginnings in what is known as Culpeper, Virginia.

You may not have been a history buff, but Culpeper was the sight of the most military battles in the Civil war.  Why is this important to Our family.  Jane and Mathew (a former slave) ran a commissary for the Union Army in the midst of the war.  Less than a mile away from the homestead was a military jail.

You have to ask yourself: What kind of People were Our Family!  Some of our new readers may still ask : Why  is Jane and Mathew important to us.  Well Jane and Mathew fathered Richard Ford who married Sarah and had Mary T who in turn married Dock Stroud.  Well, hold on Dock  and Mary had 5 daughters who eventually moved to Mount Vernon, N.Y and married into the Haden, Tucker, Michael,  Ford and Wyatt Family.  Need I say more?

Peace love and Blessings,

  Welcome to the 131st Edition

It's that time again! May, the most perfect month of the year. Can you just feel  the energy and excitement warm weather and burst of colorful flowers bring.  To all of my Taurus and Gemini family, Happy Birthday!

May, that month that's been set aside to remember our mothers whether here or if  they have transitioned.  For many of us we're still reeling from our mother images being gone. We spend many private moments wishing for "just a little more time".  While some of the young one's are lamenting because their mom's have long list of chores for them to do.

Wherever you find yourself in this spectrum,  pause for just a moment or two and dwell on that "funny thing " that happened.  Give grief a kick in butt, because your mom's left you with so many memories.  Give pause to your annoyance because you were asked to clean your room and remember what your mom did to make you laugh.

Yes, May brings Mother's Day,  a longing for what used to be. May also gives hope with the dawn of each sun shinning day.  Well Mom, can't give you a hug, but in today's world everything is virtual now anyway.  So here's our hug along with a note that says:  I'll always Love you!

Giving All Honor and Praise to the Most High for the Mother's who served as vehicles to bring  our generation into this world.  We honor the Stroud Sisters who reign has the Matriarchs of this illustrious family.  From them we draw strength and give praise, because in spite of life not being easy,  they gave us love and drive.

Let us not Forget Memorial Day.  Which in fact was established by the African American community.  It was in response to the lack  of  acknowledgement of soldiers returning home from war,  So in honor of their  Military service, we wish our Veterans  Happy Memorial Day

Again this newsletter is designed to keep our family unit informed. So please send your questions, articles and concerns to fullergail@hotmail.com
