Why were you invited to this newsletter?   This is what all of us have in common.    In the early stages of the website some very interesting family history was included. It took us back to the early 1780's with Charles and Sarah Marshall, the parents of Mathew Marshall Ford who was Enslaved. It went on to tell us how Jane Ford a free woman married a slave and so Mathew took on her Surname. Jane and Mathew had 17 children. And finally, it explained our Early beginnings in what is known as Culpeper, Virginia.

You may not have been a history buff, but Culpeper was the sight of the most military battles in the Civil war.  Why is this important to Our family?  Jane and Mathew (a former slave) ran a commissary for the Union Army in the midst of the war.  Less than a mile away from the homestead was a military jail.

You have to ask yourself: What kind of People were Our Family!  Some of our new readers may still ask: Why  is Jane and Mathew important to us. Well Jane and Mathew fathered Richard Ford who married Sarah and had Mary T who in turn married Dock Stroud.  Well, hold on, Dock  and Mary had 5 daughters who eventually moved to Mount Vernon, N.Y and married into the Haden, Tucker, Michael,  Ford and Wyatt Family.  Need I say more?

146th Edition

 Morning Blessings Family

Here we are running into the month of August after reeling over the events of July.  Not only did we recognized the birthday of our Ancestor Janie Stroud Haden on July 31st who would have been 126 years old , we had the milestone birthday of Michele Harris Dixon 55 in Nevada and . Celebrated 33 years of marriage were our New Orleans family Phillip and Lisa Michael Semere. Much love goes out to all to all and my happiness continue to follow them!

Sitting and watching as the world turns and we move on with our lives, Family, I encourage you to hold on because there's another chapter to our story. So many of us are pushing through after loosing loved ones, finding that our finances are not what we need them to be, having children who haven't found their way yet and just struggling to stay sane.    Hold on family, we've been through a lot but we're not beaten yet.  We may be tired and confused but when we look back and see where we've come there remains a glimmer of hope.  May August be a good month that brings you smiles and happiness.

What I'd love for you to take in, is each of us will Write our part in our History. Allow me to say this loud and clear:  Together we will make a difference! We are here for you if only to encourage you. Just knowing someone cares can give you the lift you need to keep moving, growing and loving. Our History:
                     We need to Vote!
I won't tell you who you need to vote for, but I will say it's mandatory to let your voices be heard by voting.  Voting and organizing is our right and our duty. Voting is the only way we can Right the Records.  People and propositions that reflect your desires need to be put in place to serve your needs.

We cannot continue to be pawn pieces that are easily sacrificed.  We are important people and we must protect the board.  Don't take the assignment lightly as some would want you to, don't allow yourselves to be used to disseminate self hate, and finally, have respect for who you are and not what you were!
