Why were you invited to this newsletter? This is what all of us have in common. In the early stages of the website some very interesting family history was included. It took us back to the early 1780's with Charles and Sarah Marshall, the parents of Mathew Marshall Ford who was Enslaved. It went on to tell us how Jane Ford a free woman married a slave and so Mathew took on her Surname. Jane and Mathew had 17 children. And finally, it explained our Early beginnings in what is known as Culpeper, Virginia.
You may not have been a history buff, but Culpeper was the sight of the most military battles in the Civil war. Why is this important to Our family? Jane and Mathew (a former slave) ran a commissary for the Union Army in the midst of the war. Less than a mile away from the homestead was a military jail.
You have to ask yourself: What kind of People were Our Family! Some of our new readers may still ask: Why is Jane and Mathew important to us. Well Jane and Mathew fathered Richard Ford who married Sarah and had Mary T who in turn married Dock Stroud. Well, hold on, Dock and Mary had 5 daughters who eventually moved to Mount Vernon, N.Y and married into the Haden, Tucker, Michael, Ford and Wyatt Family. Need I say more?
144th Edition
Blessings Family ,
Here we are again celebrating the men and manhood of our family. Yes, it's June and we have a song to sing about the men in our family who stood up and stand up as father's! For some, the road to fatherhood has been scenic, with twist and turns. valleys and mountains. We celebrate all of the men who stayed in the game and are proud of the father's they have become.
Very often we don't take into account that some had no models to follow behind, or the picture they saw did not present a pleasant image. In some cases some Fathers were thrust into a role when they were still just children themselves. But in 2024 we're thankful that the role they serve is worthy of being honored, We're thankful for all the men who filled in and held down the fort for the children. We're grateful that our men recognized what was missing and stepped into the role, they stepped up to the plate and hit a home run.
We're even grateful to the father's who failed because you too taught a lesson. A painful but meaningful lesson of what not to be. So for every spectrum of our experiences there's a message to be learned. We thank the missing father's fore they taught us be present.
We encourage everyone to look at their circumstance and choose to be the best person they can be for the children. We praise your strength to stay in your roles and not run because the pressure is a lot. The term Father is not just a word it's a way of living. Take a moment and be thankful for the many unsung sacrifices your father made. But even more importantly the lessons he taught you about loving your children . For those of you who still have your Father's, be kind and Bless them with your love.

Family, let me introduce you to our Limb Awareness Poster child. Let's give a resounding applause for 12 year old Lil Ceceila Haden daughter of Leyla Rodriquez and Tyrone Haden Sr. Cee Cee as we fondly call her is the granddaughter of Tyrone Phelps and the late Ceceila Haden, she is the Great Granddaughter of the late Lloyd Jr. and Dorothy Haden. Lil Cee Cee has in her lifetime undergone numerous corrective surgeries and has maintained her infectious smile through it all.
Cee Cee, not only had to endure the pain of surgeries, but often found herself being teased and bullied. As we salute Lil Ceceila Haden we ask that you teach your children to be more sensitive about the differences in each of us. And as a word of encouragement Lil CeeCee shows us nothing stops her from doing the things she likes. Ceceila will be celebrating her 13th birthday in July and right now she enjoys playing Softball.
We encourage you to join us on the last Saturday of each month to discuss our book choice or be a part of ongoing circle of friends.
Let me say May's book "While Justice Sleeps", by Stacey Abrams was a well written Thriller. Our group had only one dissenter in rating this book a 10. So should you be looking for a good read, "While Justice Sleeps" should be on your list.
In June the group will be reading " Crazy Rich Asian" by Kevin Kwan. As a twist we will be comparing the book to the movie. So join us at our virtual book Club meeting. The date June 29th at 4:00 EST

Our History:
In our hearts, we carry the echoes of our ancestors' resilience and the strength of cultural giants who have charted an indelible path of pride and self-discovery for us all. I offer to the family the pictures of the earliest father's. Pictured top left is Richard Charles Ford born March 28. 1848 in Culpeper County, Virginia and died Jan 7.1928 in Culpeper, Virginia. Richard, the son of Jane Ford and Mathew Marshall was born a free man. Richard was the Grand father of the five Stroud sisters. Below and is his Grandson n laws, LLoyd Linwood Haden Sr., born Feb 16,1901 in the Bronx, New York and died July 8,1991 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Followed on the by his Grandson n law Harry Parnell Tucker born Sept 20, 1902 in Asheville, North Carolina and died March 28,1994 in Westchester County , New York. Regrettably, we have no pictures of William Michael Jr. who was born 12/26/1906 in Charleston South Carolina and died 1952 in New York City, but we do have a picture of his father William Michael Sr. who was born in Dorchester South Carolina and died in 1917.
